On July 4th, the 18th Annual Run for Freedom 5K took place in Antioch, IL.  Employees of State Bank of The Lakes, along with their families volunteered to assist with event duties.

Over 1400 people registered for the event with 1228 finishing the walk/run in the 100 degree weather!

The participants, along with community and State Bank of The Lakes volunteers supported the Adopt-A-Package program, which provides care packages for soldiers serving overseas.  Donations were plentiful and the local VFW was pleased with the contributions received again this year.

In addition, the following community organizations received race proceeds; Lindenhurst Park District, Lakes Area Community Band, Lake Villa Historical Society, Community Food Pantry (serving Richmond/Spring Grove area), Village of Antioch for the purchase of new band-shell sound equipment and The Oasis-Grayslake Youth Center.  Joyce Campbell of The Oasis said, “Thank you State Bank of the Lakes for your generous donation to the Oasis in Grayslake. You are the best community partner!”

Results of the race can be found at here.
