State Bank of The Lakes Awards $13,000 in scholarship awards to local high school graduates

State Bank of The Lakes is pleased to present 2011 scholarship awards to graduating seniors from high schools within the communities we serve as a financial organization.

Within the past two weeks, the bank awarded seniors of Antioch Community High School, Lakes High School, Grayslake North and Central High Schools, Johnsburg High School and Richmond Burton High School more than $13,000.00 in scholarships.

State Bank of The Lakes provides two scholarship programs annually. Antioch and Lakes High School seniors are provided a scholarship for attendance at the College of Lake County for two years, with an award of $2500.00 per student over two years, to assist them with tuition and book expenses. The four community high schools (GL North and Central, Richmond Burton and Johnsburg) seniors are provided a scholarship for attendance at a four year college, with an award of $2000.00 per student over four years, to assist them with tuition and book expenses.

“We participate in these Scholarship Programs because we want to assist young people in achieving their full academic potential so they can make a positive difference in our community,” said James B. Kinney, President of State Bank of The Lakes. “By helping these students pursue their dreams, we’ll be investing in the development of our future civic and business leaders as well."

CLC Scholarship, Antioch Community High School- Savana Bailey
CLC Scholarship, Lakes Community High School- Rosalie Metallo
SBOTL Community Scholarship, Grayslake North High School- Elizabeth Caloway
SBOTL Community Scholarship, Grayslake Central High School- Alexandra Stephan
SBOTL Community Scholarship, Richmond Burton High School- Lauren Smith
SBOTL Community Scholarship, Johnsburg High School- Nell Langner

State Bank of The Lakes Scholarship programs have been in place for over seven years. Students apply for the scholarships through their high school guidance counselor’s office. State Bank of The Lakes is a community bank and these programs reflect our ability to give back to our communities.
