State Bank of the Lakes offered a Free Coin Appraisal for its customers from the middle of February to the end of March at each of its five bank locations.
In total, over 250 customers brought in their collections for an appraisal by Ron Beckstrom of Golden Rule Coins. A few highlights have included a penny worth $500, a pair of $20 gold pieces valued at $1,600 a piece, and a gold coin collection valued at more than $45,000. In addition, an 1899 five dollar bill was brought in and valued at $300. Over $10,000 in jewelry was also appraised.
“Each event was more successful than the last,” said Pam Whitaker of State Bank of The Lakes. “It was exciting to see our customers and neighbors bring in their collections and see the hidden treasures that some did not even realize that they had! We are already looking forward to hosting this event again.”
